With CPower, they’re back.
As of May 2020, Capacity Performance (CP) is now PJM’s lone capacity demand response program, and it requires year-round participation per PJM rules.
CPower has for years been one of the largest aggregators of capacity in the PJM market, which means we have one of the largest capacity portfolios in the market.
Given CPower’s large portfolio and significant positions in PJM’s capacity market, we are able to offer a unique summer-only option to this program. That means your organization CAN participate in CP demand response during the summer only–just like back in the old days.
Here’s how it works.
Your organization commits its summer load and CPower matches it with an existing winter load from our PJM capacity portfolio.
Combined, your summer load and the matching winter load make a complete CP offering.
You only participate during the summer months (June-October, and then the following May) and get paid for your efforts in helping PJM’s grid stay reliable.
